Frozen Ark is a charity which exists to collect, preserve and store tissue, gametes, viable cells and DNA from endangered animals for use both in conservation programmes and to enable society to benefit itself and all life on earth. The project focuses on the thousands of animals that are threatened with extinction.
For this event, Frozen Ark Trustee Paul Pearce-Kelly, Senior Curator of Invertebrates, Lower Vertebrates and Research at the Zoological Society London, will be joined by Tim Flach, Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and award winning photographer, to discuss and illustrate the work of the charity.
Tim's photography aims to promote discussion and encourage debate and is used in publicity for the Frozen Ark. He is currently working on his next project 'Endangered', due for publication the Summer of 2017. Also joining the discussion will be Postdoctoral researcher Sefryn Penrose from the interdisciplinary programme, Assembling Alternative Futures for Heritage, UCL.
