Pivotal Conversation 2

  • Loco 44 Mill Road Cambridge, CB1 2AS United Kingdom (map)

To get our second Pivotal Conversation event started, we've invited speakers Jacky Sutton-Adam from Transition Cambridge; John Turner and Jenny Langley, who are involved with the new Circular Cambridge initiative; and Giulia Nicolini, a recent sociology grad who has been involved with various food and environmental groups in Cambridge - in particular, she worked with Cambridge Sustainable Food from 2014 until last month.

They will each give very short introductions to the work they've been involved with, and if you're inspired to contribute in a creative way to that work they would love to hear your comments and suggestions.

There will then be time for you to share your own ideas and concerns - and for us all to respond to Sir David King's recent call to action in Science Magazine: "the direction is set: decarbonization. The target: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions fast enough to prevent the worst impacts of climate change from hitting all of us, particularly the world's poorest and most vulnerable. The opportunity: immense. The question that remains: What part are you going to play?"

We are looking for multi-platform projects to engage with - if you have creative ideas to share this is the place to do so!

This meeting will be chaired by artist and activist Rebecca Lindum Greene, who has most recently been an organiser for the WOW! festival and has also put together the Pivotal Cambridge Science Festival event with the Frozen Ark project.

Please RSVP, and hope to see you there!
